10 Reasons Christians Could Benefit from our Faith, Healing & Wellness Webinar!
10 reasons why we believe investment of time and money into attending or watching the recording of the Faith, Healing and Wellness Webinar will potentially have great benefit people who have a Christian faith.
Potential benefit 1— recognising that we have burdened “parts” within us.
The concept of parts is not unique to Internal Family Systems (IFS). Many mainstream therapy models embrace this concept. The impact of life experiences, trauma and emotional wounds can produce burdened or wounded parts of us all. Recognising this can help us gain insight into our defensiveness that, when we’re honest, we know can be very present in our and others behaviours at times. Awareness and recognition can be a first step in the healing process.
Potential benefit 2—We can become more accepting and tolerant of the parts in others that can irritate us. This has been one of the huge personal benefits of IFS to us, to be more compassionate and curious about people’s behaviour as opposed to associate them as a person with an aspect of themselves. “To separate the person from the behaviour”.
Potential benefit 3—Facing up to the reality that we are a work in progress, as we have parts that need working on—None of us like to face up to the elements within that, in moments of raw honesty need our attention, when thoughts, attitudes or judgments that need healing. The recognition of parts within us, as the Apostle Paul noted in Romans 7:15: ‘I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do’, makes us more curious and open to God’s ongoing intervention in our lives.
Potential benefit 4—To be more patient with the parts that others are working on—Once we come to recognise that have aspects of ourselves that need work, we can become more compassionate and grace-filled in responding to others.
Potential benefit 5—Having a tool for confronting shame within ourselves. With guilt we recognise we have done something wrong, with shame we feel as if “we are wrong”. IFS is a non-shaming approach that helps us to take ownership of behaviour without the self-condemnation of shame.
Potential benefit 6—Having a tool for being gentler with others as they confront shame. As IFS can be non-shaming for us, it can be really helpful to allow people to come to terms with their behaviour that needs addressing without being overwhelmed by shame.
Potential benefit 7—Learning some ways for others to “map” our inner worlds. You will get to see a live demonstration of how to map (summarise via picture and words) what is happening in someone’s inner world. This is really useful for ourselves in processing issues.
Potential benefit 8—Learning some ways to assist others to map their inner worlds. Once we learn to map our own inner worlds we learn how to sensitively map others worlds as well.
Potential benefit 9—Engage in a low risk activity for great potential gain. You can watch the Webinar live and make commentary/ask questions. Unless you ask us to do otherwise we won’t name you, and so you can quietly reflect on the content and observe the live session and consider how it applies to you. The same applies for watching the recording, except you won’t get the opportunity to ask questions of course. Many potential benefits and low risk.
Potential benefit 10—Investing 90 minutes and $20 (early bird rate) which could bring a great return. The concept of IFS has helped us enormously in making our Christian faith more practical. We would like to offer you the opportunity.
